“He definitely has a ton of potential to become a great director and has a unique voice. I sat down with him before the film and heard his vision and I really liked his ability to connect with the project… I would say, Vivica A. Fox and Kym Whitley and Loretta Devine and a lot of the talent raved over his mature and exciting directing style. So, I thought that it was definitely a success to have Devonte on the  project.” - Jarnell Stokes

Raised in Detroit and now based in Kansas City, Missouri, DeVonte Brown is a director and cinematographer whose work is rooted in honest storytelling and emotionally grounded imagery. With more than a decade of experience in production, he has grown from Production Assistant to Director, bringing a deep understanding of every stage of the filmmaking process.

Whether crafting a narrative film, documentary, commercial, or music video, DeVonte believes every frame should serve the story. His approach begins long before the camera rolls through thoughtful collaboration, intentional preparation, and building trust with the people who bring each project to life. He sees filmmaking as a collective art form, where every voice contributes to something greater than itself.

Influenced by the resilience of Detroit and the creative spirit of Kansas City, DeVonte creates films that are both visually striking and emotionally sincere. His work explores the people we become through love, loss, faith, identity, and the choices that shape us inviting audiences to feel something long after the screen fades to black.
